The University of Melbourne participates as a Place Agency partner primarily through its Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning and provides project support and leadership through the Thrive Research Hub located at the university’s Melbourne School of Design. The University of Melbourne sees the project and collaboration as an opportunity to bring together theoretical knowledge and implementation in ways that can be implemented to create vibrant public spaces and ultimately, better cities.
The Architecture, Building and Planning Faculty is based at the Melbourne School of Design at the university’s Parkville campus. It offers graduate programs in architecture, architectural engineering, built environments, property valuation, construction management, landscape architecture, property, urban and cultural heritage, urban design and urban planning.

Our Research
Place Agency is a project focused on the education of placemaking, our team are also endeavoring to tackle and understand the processes driving placemaking. Leading to research in the areas of place evaluation, common challenges face in implementing placemaking and understanding the educational outcomes of the project.
